Obey: a breadth of stimuli
You need to know about Obey Giant. The depth of the brand's messages are awe-inspiring, and the breadth of the medium used to deliver them is equally incredible.Obey is the brainchild of Shephard Fairey, and his direction with it is an "experiment in phenomenology". The point is to spark curiosity in the viewer; force the public to question the messages of their surroundings - including those of Obey. Through the use of various stimuli, Obey sparks intrigue in the public that ignites into an overall re-assessment of their environment.
The medium, because I know you're wondering, started as stickers but now includes clothing, canvases, and guerrilla art.
Today was the last day of Obey's "Nineteeneightyfouria" exhibit in the Stolen Space gallery of London. Seeing the pieces in person leaves an incredible impact, because many are created using mixed medium - a layering of text and paper to create a background for the image itself. The messages of the pieces, however, are not lost in prints... or in photos online.

I know you want more.
